In the wake of the horrific terrorist attacks that shocked Paris Friday night, a team of chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team is on the ground in France’s capital city to offer emotional and spiritual care.

At the direction of BGEA president Franklin Graham, an international consortium of BGEA’s U.S., Canada and UK Rapid Response Teams joined together to send seven crisis-trained chaplains, most of whom are French speakers, to offer a ministry of presence in the heart of Paris.

“Join me in praying for the French people,” Franklin Graham said, “all those injured and the loved ones of the victims of these barbaric attacks.”

“It’s the worst tragedy [in France] since World War II,” said Jack Munday, international director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. “We want to encourage them, let them know we’re here to support them.”

The first group of chaplains—who are working directly with a church in Paris, as well as several Christian organizations—arrived on Monday.

Billy Graham’s ministry in Paris included four Crusades, most recently in 1986. BGEA’s Internet Evangelism ministry has partnered with Paris-based Jesus.net since 2011.

“We’ll be talking with people on the streets, the storekeepers, the café workers to see how they’re holding up,” Munday said. “And to let them know that God hasn’t forgotten them.”

You can help support this effort by donating to the Rapid Response Team.

Please pray for the people of Paris and all of France.
