Prayer for the Holy City

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” ~ II Chronicles 7:14 NIV.

Inspired by that verse, the festival staff in the Charleston office have asked that we join them in praying for the events of this weekend and beyond. Here are their specific needs and requests. Thank you for joining with us in this effort!

Please PRAY, PRAY, PRAY:

SOULS – for the revelation of the true hope in Christ to the lost and hurting; responsive hearts to the Gospel message.

OPERATION ANDREW – for participants to be diligent in prayer and outreach to those on their lists in these last days of preparation. Holy Spirit to prepare hearts to respond positively to invitations to attend the Festival. Daily life schedules to facilitate attendance.

FRANKLIN GRAHAM – as he prepares to come preach to this community, to be filled with God’s Spirit to proclaim the Gospel with power, truth and love; for God’s perfect messages for the people of the Lowcountry.

PROGRAM PRESENTERS & PRESENTATIONS – that each presenter’s heart will be submitted completely to Christ to be used of Him to accomplish His purposes in the hearts of the people of the Lowcountry.

PRAYER NET INVOLVEMENT – that every street and area will be covered in prayer prior to the Festival.

ON-SITE PRAYER – that many will hear about and serve in the Prayer Room during each Festival service to ensure all needs are lifted to the Lord.

FINANCES & MEDIA COVERAGE – that all Festival financial needs will be met to the glory of God! Good, accurate and effective media coverage.

ALL FESTIVAL WORKERS, VOLUNTEERS and FESTIVAL and BGEA STAFF – for our hearts to be prepared for service of excellence unto the Lord; strength and wisdom for the tasks before us each day.

FESTIVAL LOGISTICS – that all physical, technical, resource needs of venue to be met. Smooth transportation, parking, entry, seating; good relationship among all workers.

WORKER REHEARSALS AND BRIEFING – during Festival week to be well attended and God’s sufficient provision for each service. Cooperative, gentle spirits to prevail at all times.

KIDZFEST – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 – that thousands of families will attend and all have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ. Pray for God to use KidzFest Choir involvement to strengthen children’s love for God and used as a tool for getting more families to KidzFest to hear about Jesus. Pray for immediate and diligent discipleship of children who give their hearts to Jesus.

YOUTH/STUDENTS – Pray for school assemblies during Festival week to touch hearts for a desire to come to Saturday events. Pray for youth to be diligent and bold inviting their friends to Saturday night service and for thousands to respond to the Gospel and be discipled.

FESTIVAL SERVICES – Friday, Saturday AM & PM and Sunday – that God will answer our prayers for a great harvest of souls! That hearts of believers will be broken for the things that break God’s heart; that His Church will serve in unity of spirit and love; that we will be His lighthouse of hope, love and truth that could begin to impact our entire nation for Christ “for such a time as this.”

FOLLOW-UP/DISCIPLESHIP – for churches to be prepared to disciple the hundreds, even thousands, who will come to know Jesus during the Festival; that they will become influencers for Christ, too.

To GOD be all the glory!
Amen.
