July has proven to be an exciting month so far at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Kicking off with a celebration of our nation’s freedom, we traveled to the ends of the earth and back to share the freedom that Christians can find in a relationship with Christ.
Will Graham and his wife, Kendra, set off for the Celebration of Peace, July 8-10 in Kenya, where Will received a warm welcome on the ground and online! Our Twitter and Facebook audiences showed their support and excitement for this Gospel outreach from their virtual seats.
Despite several downpours, hundreds upon hundreds made life-changing decisions to accept Christ as their personal Savior in the city of Nakuru, a two-hour drive from Nairobi. Check out the beautiful footage from Kenya in the featured video.
Meanwhile, Kendra Graham touched the hearts of women at the Life Celebration Centre. Mixing humorous stories about her children with teaching from the Bible, Kendra reminded the estimated 500 Kenyan women in attendance of God’s love and personal care. Learn more.
Also on the continent of Africa, Franklin Graham attended Independence Day ceremonies in the new nation of South Sudan. Praying with President Salva Kiir, Franklin encouraged the leader to seek godly counsel.
“There is still much that needs to be done to help the people of both countries,” said Franklin. “I pray that God will give these leaders wisdom and courage to lead their people, uniting their hearts toward the goal of reconciliation and peace.” Join us in continued prayer for South Sudan.
BGEA teams are headed to Haiti even now to cover the My Hope World Evangelism Through Television Project, set for July 21-23. A few weeks ago, one of our writers attended an amazing Haitian church service and met a pastor who expressed his excitement for the project. Read about prayer needs in Haiti and help us in lifting this nation into the light.
Circling back to U.S. soil, we are preparing for back-to-back events in Milwaukee and Denver next month. Franklin Graham will preach the Good News at Rock the Lakes and Rock the Range, joined by a roster of great artists. The Afters, one band that will perform, recently told our team how they got their name and how they hope to make a splash.
As always, we appreciate your continued prayers and support as we undertake the crucial work of telling others about Jesus.
