Have you ever thought what the millennial reign of Christ will be like?
Scripture tells us that when Christ returns, He will defeat the enemies of God and establish the throne of David on earth. He Himself will become the king, sitting on David’s throne in Jerusalem as He rules the world for a thousand years.
The Bible also says nations of the world will come to learn from Him, desiring to know His ways and to walk in His paths. There will be a thousand years of peace. The lion and lamb will lie down together, swords and weapons of war will be beaten into plowshares, and spears will become pruning hooks.
There will be no poverty, no famine, and no hunger during this thousand years. This will be a time of great abundance. The devil will be bound, and his deceptions and lies will be gone.
Can you just imagine what this period of time on earth will be like, with Jesus on the throne as the King of kings and Lord of lords, ruling over a world with universal peace and prosperity?
My father, who has written on this subject many times, has said, “The second coming of Christ will be so revolutionary that it will change every aspect of life on this planet. Christ will reign in righteousness. Disease will be arrested. Death will be modified. War will be abolished. Nature will be changed. Man will live as originally intended. No matter how foreboding the future, the Christian knows the end of the story of history. We are heading toward a glorious climax.”
We long for justice on this earth. We are tired of politicians and governments promising and never delivering. What is our hope? Our hope is that the King returns and brings with Him peace and justice.
Until then we have a job to do–to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the only hope for sinners, “for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16, NKJV).
In the next few months I will have the opportunity to take the Gospel literally to the ends of the earth. I will be going to Sudan, a nation where until recently churches were routinely burned and pastors killed. I’ll be meeting with government officials as well as pastors. Pray for me.
Then I will be in Uruguay in March, holding a country-wide evangelistic Crusade. Pray with us that thousands will come to know Jesus as Savior.
In months to come we have Crusades in Estonia, Colombia, and India, all of them nations whose people desperately need the hope found only in Jesus Christ. I cannot thank you enough for partnering with BGEA to make this work possible.
Here at home we are also planning a major evangelistic thrust focusing on reaching youth, called Rock the River. We will start in Baton Rouge, La., and go up the Mississippi, holding all-day evangelistic outreaches in different cities, hopefully ending in St. Paul, Minn., in August. Jesus told His disciples, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). We are going to go up the river fishing for the souls of our youth. Please pray that there will be a great harvest.
We know that the Gospel must be preached to all peoples before Christ returns, and we sense that time is drawing closer as we see the Holy Spirit work in amazing ways. For example, He is using our World Evangelism Through Television project, My Hope, reach vast numbers across entire nations at one time with staggering results.
A few weeks ago I wrote you about the huge response to the Gospel in Brazil as a result of what God did through My Hope. We also just concluded My Hope in Singapore and later this year will be going to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, and another Asian country we can’t name because of the risk of persecution of local Christians.
In the United States, we have an exciting new television format that is airing at various times of the day and evening all month on cable channels. Be sure to watch and see some of the amazing things God is doing, and encourage your friends to watch as well.
We want to take the Gospel to as many countries as possible, but we need your help. Will you pray for us and send us a financial gift at this time for the work that God has placed before us?
These are uncertain days in our nation’s economy, and all of us share in that. Our finances are behind. Yet there are wide-open opportunities for the Gospel right now that will not be there if we wait for better days. The stakes are so high–lost people need a Savior, and that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
We thank God for what He has done and continues to do. And I thank Him for your partnership in the Gospel. You are a vitally important part of this ministry.
May God bless you and your loved ones..
P.S. As you pray for us, we would be honored to pray for you. Our staff meets daily for prayer, and we invite you to send us a prayer need so that we may join you in bringing your needs to the Lord.
When you send a gift to BGEA this month, I want to thank you by sending a complimentary copy of my father’s book Answers to Life’s Problems, offering his thoughtful, biblical responses to the questions people ask him most often.

Eternity hangs in the balance for thousands of souls at each Crusade we hold, and we do not take this responsibility lightly. These great spiritual battles can have lasting impact on entire cities, but they require fervent prayer–and considerable resources. Your gift of $40 will help bring eternal hope to lost men, women, and children through BGEA Crusades around the world.

God is using our My Hope project to blanket entire nations with His Good News. The response is overwhelming–from Christians wanting to be trained to nonbelievers wanting to commit their lives to Jesus Christ. We want to take this project to every nation on earth–but we’re limited by finances. Your gift of $100 or more will give many more the chance to hear about God’s love.
