This is the first of four FM419 training events scheduled to equip teens along the Mississippi River share their faith.
FM419 is training designed to provide evangelism tools to today’s youth. In preparation for the Rock the River Tour this summer, other training weekends will be held during May in St, Louis, Quad Cities and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Along with life-changing evangelism training, students can expect high-energy music from Deluge and Epic Worship.
“This will give us a chance to talk to these young people, with young hearts, about their walk with God, overcoming challenges in sharing their faith, and what to do after someone makes a decision for Christ,” said John Cass, an FM419 trainer. “We will provide materials and food, but this is really about changed lives.”
So, why the name, FM419? In Matthew 4:19, Jesus commands us to “come, follow me.” That’s how the name, FM419, came to be.
“We are excited to provide a means for kids to really examine whether they are living the way God wants them to live, dealing with everyday problems in a way that most pleases Him, and showing the boldness in sharing that is required of them,” said Cass. “We don’t only look forward to seeing decisions for Christ as a result of Rock the River; we want to see kids who are already Christians turn every aspect of their life over to God and follow Him.”

The purpose of Rock the River is to share the Good News of the Gospel with tens of thousands of young people and young adults along the Mississippi River basin from Louisiana to Minnesota in a fun, festival setting. With appearances in select cites from Flyleaf, Kirk Franklin, Red, Skillet, DecembeRadio, and Hawk Nelson.
Franklin Graham will share a presentation of the Gospel at each event. Attendees will have an opportunity to respond to the Gospel, be encouraged by trained peers and then related back to local caring churches.
