Travis Cottrell, December 13
Growing up in Boone, N.C., Travis Cottrell’s love for music was firmly established by the time he was a teenager. Embracing the rich traditional hymns of his childhood, along with modern music of today, he uses a blended style to help lead people from all generations and backgrounds into worship.

His voice has been heard by millions as worship leader for Beth Moore’s Living Proof Ministries conferences since 1995. During that span, Cottrell has recorded several solo projects, including the Dove Award-winning Jesus Saves Live. In 2010, he penned his first book, Surprised By Worship: Discovering the Presence of God Where You Least Expect It (Zondervan).

For his popular Christmas album, Ring The Bells (2008),  Cottrell joined forces with renowned producer Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Mercy Me) to record well-known classics and new favorites, including “What Child Is This?,” “In the First Light,” and “Home for Christmas Again.”

Charles Billingsley, December 14
After Charles Billingsley hit the national scene in 1994 as the lead singer of NewSong, he soon began his prolific career as solo recording artist and worship leader. Nearly two decades, 24 records, and 3,000 concerts later, Billingsley continues to embrace a variety of musical styles. He released his new album, Never Forsaken, earlier this year.

With two Christmas albums under his belt—the independent release One Christmas Night and the fan fave Christmas—Charles is also known for his moving renditions of “Ave Maria,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “O Holy Night,” and “There’s a Way in the Manger,” among others.

Michael Card, December 15
In a career that spans 30 years, Michael Card has recorded over 31 albums, authored or co-authored more than 24 books, hosted a national radio program, and spoken regularly around the U.S. and Canada as a noted theologian. He has penned such favorites as “El Shaddai” and “Love Crucified Arose,” yet he says he never imagined selling millions of albums or writing over 19 No. 1 hits.

Two of Card’s most popular originals, “Emmanual” and “Joseph’s Song,” and his version of “What Child Is This?” have each appeared on multiple Christmas collections. But it was his classic full-length album, The Promise: A Celebration of Christ’s Birth, that so resonated with the artist and fans that he released a concert video of its songs titled Christmas in Belfast.

“The birth of the Christ is so much more than a ‘birthday’ to be observed once a year,” said Card. “Our focus must become the Incarnation, which we celebrate every minute of our lives. We must realize that the cry we hear drifting from the stable is the voice of the One who spoke the universe into being. If Christmas means anything to you, then it must mean everything!”
