Critical Incident Stress Management

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) classes are often held following the Sharing Hope in Crisis
(SHIC) seminar in the same location with six months of SHIC. Each RRT Chaplain is required to take the SHIC
and two of the CISM courses from the list provided below and in the Chaplain Application Packet. Many people
have had great training, but for the following reasons we adhere to this training protocol.

Each CISM course is approximately 13 hours long and is accredited by the University of Maryland for CEUʼs.
Courses may vary in cost by location and class size. If you have submitted your Chaplain Application, please fax in a copy of your certificate for our records each time you complete a CISM course (704.401.3003 Attn. RRT).
