Realities of Life

By   •   November 27   •   Topics:

Thousands of people have made plans to escape from the realities of life. A new word has come into common usage the last few years. That word is “escapism.” The dictionary defines it as “a retreat from reality into an imaginary world.” The escape of imagination. Solomon spoke of the unregenerate heart as one which is inclined to excessive fantasy. The dream world Satan promotes always ends with disillusionment. Thousands of people live in an unreal dream world, while shirking their responsibilities toward their families and toward God. The Bible teaches that with Christ in your heart, you can face the realities of life. Even though they are hard, the grace of God will give you greater joy and pleasure than any dream world to which you try to escape.

Prayer for the day

Lord, so often my thoughts make a wasteland of what You are wanting to plant there. This day let every one of them be captive to Your leading.

  2. Trish says:

Currently, I’m helping my son-in-law in caregiving for my daughter, who has metastatic brain cancer with many complications. She and her husband have 3 young children. Though I am not in the best of health myself, the Lord has been very kind to me. He has given me the stamina, courage and wisdom to face each day with peace and joy in my heart to care for her and her family as well as my own husband. It is truly AMAZING to see The Lord Jesus Christ work in such wonderful ways in our family. I would never have the energy I have without God’s help. All praise and glory to Him!!!!

Please pray for me. I am struggling to stay on the right path. Too many things have gone wrong with my personal life & I have not been able to resolve them. I know prayers get answered for other people, just haven’t seen it for me.

I am 63 years old, I want an amazing relationship with Jesus, I am starting late in life although I have had some church and I have felt close before, I want that back, Most of what I have learned has come from going to Overeater’s Anonymous meetings, that’s where I learned most of my spirituality, and it came from the bible. Now I also want to know the bible and all the truth…
