Giving God All the Thanks

By   •   November 4, 2005

The Lord has graciously allowed the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association many opportunities to preach His Gospel around the world in the past year. We give God all the glory.

The Apostle Paul said it so well: “I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done” (Romans 15:18, NIV).

We praise God for what He has done to prepare the way, open the hearts and change the lives of hundreds of thousands around the world who have responded to our Gospel presentations this year. Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him” (John 6:44, NKJV).

Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel by every effective means, and God continues to provide us with exciting new ways for sharing the Good News.

Our worldwide television project, My Hope, has quickly become a powerful and strategic way to reach entire nations with the Gospel. The key is mobilizing thousands of Christian families to pray and invite friends and neighbors into their homes to watch our programs on national television. Since 2002, in South America and Russia, more than 1.6 million people watching these telecasts have made commitments to Christ.

Now, God has opened doors for us to present “My Hope” during the Christmas season in South Asia. Please join us in prayer that many people will respond to the Gospel and come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

God also has given us a key role in meeting the spiritual needs of hurricane victims in the Gulf Coast region. The Rapid Response chaplain teams that we developed since the 9/11 attacks have ministered to thousands of survivors and emergency workers, leading many to salvation in Jesus Christ.

We’re also excited about the directions in which God is leading our Crusade ministry. In the coming months, I’m looking forward to events in New Orleans and Mobile, Ala., to share the hope of Jesus with people in these areas, many of whom were displaced from their homes by recent hurricanes. I’ve preached on five continents this year, and in 2006 God has given us invitations to go to the Philippines, Ecuador, Canada, Japan and Baltimore, Md. These events not only reach individuals but also strengthen churches and train Christians to be soul-winners.

The Billy Graham Library, now under construction in Charlotte, N.C., will give hundreds of thousands of visitors for generations to come the opportunity to hear the Gospel and respond to the unchanging truth my father has preached: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIV).

Thank you for standing with us and praying for us as we take the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to a world where more people than ever before need to know Him.
