His Presence

November 30, 2013

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings . . .
–Philippians 3:10

W.C. Burns of India wrote, “Oh to have a martyr’s heart, if not a martyr’s crown.” Popularity and adulation are far more dangerous for the Christian than persecution. It is easy, when all goes smoothly, to lose our sense of balance and our perspective. The important thing is to walk with Christ, to live for Christ, and to have one consuming passion—to please Him. Then, whatever happens, we know that He has permitted it in order to teach us some priceless lesson and to perfect us for His service. He will enrich our circumstances, be they pleasant or disagreeable, by the fact of His presence with us.

Prayer for the day

Lord, my soul wants to love and know You far more deeply. Forgive the times I have set my eyes on things that keep me from You.

Part of Faith is knowing for certain that God never permits trials and tribulation into our lives, needlessly. We will fully understand, one day.

Who can understand his errors? LORD, cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also form presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me; Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Your sight, Lord, You are my strength, and my Redeemer. God be merciful unto us, and bless us: and cause His face to shine upon us; That Your way may be known upon earth, Your saving health among all nations. LORD, in Your presence there is liberty from Satan! Amen.

Lord I pray that you help me to stay focused on you during the next few days even thou they may be filled and over flowing with things to do. That is when Satan sometimes tries to step in. You are so loving and are my lighthouse in my storm when things go wrong. Thank you Jesus for being there for me. Amen

Oh Lord! That my soul will yearn for you and that I may seek you more purposefully, because there is a yawning emptiiness in my soul when I set my eyes on things that keep me from you.

Gerry says 11.30.2010, 05:35 a.m.

Just as the Captain of a ship watches for the lighthouse during a severe storm at sea, we to need to focus our attention on Christ (our spiritual lighthouse) during the storms and trials of life. He will lovingly see us through every one.

solomon says 11.30.2010, 05:17 a.m.

Yes that is the comfort we have. Really encouraging the word today.

vonnie says 11.28.2010, 04:45 a.m.

As we grow in Christ we learn to understand the need for the often hard lessons of life. Without them we would never know the blessings that come from faithly walking threw those trials.
