Angels Have Charge Over Us

January 7, 2013

He is my refuge . . .
–Psalm 91:2

Modern psychiatrists say that one of the basic needs of man is security. In the 91st Psalm we are assured that in God we have the greatest of security, “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” If you read and reread this beautiful Psalm, you will discover that in Him we have a permanent abode and residence, and that all of the comfort, security, and affection which the human heart craves is found in Him. Perhaps no visible angels will appear in your life and mine, but God’s promise of security is nonetheless real and certain. Those who live in the realm of God have genuine safety and security.

Prayer for the day

Wherever I go this day, You and Your angels will be with me. Thank you, Lord, for the peace, love, and security You promise.

I love God with all my heart. I never will forget when I gave my heart to Jesus at a Billy Graham crusade in Louisville Ky in 1957. It is so vivid in my mind still. Forgiven. Beautiful. I was 12.

I start my day, every day, with Psalms 73: 23 - 26. "I am continually with thee....." It is very comforting. Thank you, my Almighty God, that "you hold my hand, guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory." Thank you Jesus.

I think we would be amazed if we truly knew how many times God intervenes for us each day.I certainly don't claim to understand why he permits some things to occur and not others but I am fully convinced its because of his extraordinary love for us.

Thank You, God for for protecting me when I needed it most. I turned my back on You and You still showed me grace in my time of trouble. I'm sorry for turning from You then and thank You so much, God!

It is impossible to be more secure in any way than to be under the Lords personal care.

The Bible, The word of God tells you ask and you will receive if it is his will. What ever it may be. He is our Father no matter what. If you really belong to God.God really belongs to you.

The news papers are full of tragic stories every day and we certainly live in a very dangerous world . However , it is extremely comforting to know as a Christian that God is in my corner, 24 hours a day. I realize that I will still have trials and tribulation at times in my life but only to the extent that God permits for his good reasons.

vonnie says 1.6.2011, 11:46 p.m.

When I was suffering from anxiety attacks this scripture was what brought me comfort for I knew it was God's promise to me that I had nothing to fear. In time I was delivered from the anxiety attacks but I still read this Psalm and remember that God is faithful!

God is the True security blanket!
