Assurance of His Love

January 4, 2013

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
–Psalm 27:1

Today many people are living in the bondage of fear. In a recent study a psychiatrist said that the greatest problem facing his patients was fear. Fear of going insane, committing suicide, being alone, or fear of heart disease, cancer, disaster, or death. We are becoming a nation of fearful people. Down through the centuries in times of trouble, temptation, trial, bereavement, and crisis, God has brought courage to the hearts of those who love Him. The Bible is crowded with assurances of God’s help and comfort in every kind of trouble which might cause fears to arise in the human heart. Today the Christian can come to the Scriptures with full assurance that God is going to deliver the person who puts his trust and confidence in God. Christians can look into the future with promise, hope, and joy, and without fear, discouragement, or despondency.

Prayer for the day

Your assurances of love still the fears of my heart, Lord.

Our Heavenly Father does not want us to be fearful . It is however a normal human response . We must learn to quickly hand it over to God. He is more than capable of taking care of all our fears.

2 Timothy 1:7For God has not given a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

LORD You said, My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips. Once have I sworn by My holiness that I will not lie unto David (Psalm 89:34-35). The Assurance Of Your Love Strengthened Me, When I fear. A Million Thanks!

Miracles happen. I stumbled on this site after praying and about to sleep. Suddenly fear engulfed me, that of sickness and death. The devotional answered my questions and cares I knew God was speaking to me. God bless your servant Billy!

To God be the glory! I thank Him for his promises in His word. Psalms 27:14 instructs us to "Wait on the Lord, Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Last night I went to bed feeling empty and scared, I cried to God to show himself to me about his greatest love. Am grateful that today I read from Billy Graham about GODS ASSURANCE OF HIS LOVE FOR ME. GLORY BE TO HIS HOLY NAME

I'm trying to find a bible book mark for my bible. It had the word bible on the front, like the bible pledge, or what the bible meant to the believer. I would like another one as I gave the one that I had to another person. I really enjoyed reading it, I wish I could memorize it.

I've followed this devotion for two years now, and this one is one of my favorites. I'd long been a fearful person; but with Jesus as my closest friend, I know that I will never walk alone because He loves me. I've learned the truth in casting all my cares on the Lord, for he cares for me. (Ps. 55:22) I pray that all of you find the peace of that assurance.

Gerry says 1.4.2011, 07:12 a.m.

As human beings our natural, initial reaction to devastating news of various kinds is fear. As Christians we quickly need to call out to our Heavenly Father for his promised help. Nothing happens by chance and if God promises are true, (and they surely are) he will remove that human fear and quickly replace it with a Divine Peace. Then he will see you through whatever situation caused the fear.

Chudi says 1.4.2011, 02:03 a.m.

Because You live, O Lord, I can face tomorrow. All my fears are gone. Thank You, Lord Jesus.

Christian says 1.4.2011, 01:06 a.m.

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all. ”how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8:31-32 (NIV)

mick says 1.3.2011, 12:31 a.m.

God is able to stem fear if He is truly believed.
