Filled With Christ

January 1, 2013

. . . Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.
–Philippians 3:13 (TLB)

As we flick the calendar to a new year, we come face to face with the fact that our days on earth are numbered. As the Psalmist wrote, “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” No thoughtful person can approach New Year’s Day without some introspection. We are reminded of the brevity of time. We also look back over our failures, mistakes, and missed opportunities, and vow that we will make better use of our time during the coming year. We should take time to be pleasant, to smile, to extend the small courtesies we often omit—to show love to our family. Psychiatrists tell us that most people are starved for love. Take time for the goodbye kiss; we shall go to work with a sweeter spirit. Let us take time to get acquainted with our families. We are not machines. We are not robots. The secret of a happy home is that members of the family learn to give and receive love. Let us take time to express our love in a thousand ways.

Prayer for the day

As I begin a new year, Lord Jesus, I pray that my walk through the days ahead will be filled with Your love for others, a love that does not count the cost.

I pray for all who are in need of God's guidance and blessings of faith may receive in abudance. In receiving this they'll show the Heart of Jesus towards the world(their nabours, also enemies, non-believers). That they will have eyes for the needy.

Very meaningful prayer, and as we face 2012, may we continue to be filled with hope for a glorious future with the Lord and endeavor to offer ourselves daily as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God which is our true spiritual worship.

Learn how to love from the perfect source of Love, God. Be encouraged to continue the pursuit of Love, by getting to know God through all our situations and circumstance. I know I could never be a true source of love apart from God.

As a christian we should try our best to please God but alot of times we try please man more than God. Remember when we go to church we're there to worship God and not man. Who are you trying to please today?

Another year had passed and a new year has begun, and beginning the year with the words of the importance of the family is just the right words to begin the year with. I believe God has a greater plan for each one of us, to be an instrument for His glory and to show His love to the people around us. May this year be a year of victory in Christ Jesus! May His name be glorified above all!

Larry says 1.1.2011, 06:42 a.m.

We are one year closer to Paradise.

In 2011 plan a plan with the Planner!

Gerry says 12.27.2010, 06:22 a.m.

I could not agree more. Many of us make resolutions for the New Year and most fail to keep them more than a few weeks. My prayer, with God's help is that I will be a more productive servant for him. I only just discovered this wonderful forum in late November 2010 and as I reflect back 2010 has been a positive year of growth. Thank you Lord for all your Love, Patience and Blessings.
