My heart goes out to you; what your husband did was selfish and shameless, and was a complete denial of the solemn marriage vow he made before God to be faithful to you both in sickness and health. The Bible says, “When you make a vow to God… fulfill your vow” (Ecclesiastes 5:4).
But God hasn’t abandoned you, no matter how you feel right now. God loves you, and He knows all about your situation. The most important thing you can do is turn to Him for the encouragement and strength you need. Life isn’t always easy; in fact, at times it can be very hard. But that’s when we need God’s help the most — and He is ready to give it. The Bible’s promise is true: “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9).
Don’t be afraid to tell God exactly how you feel; He won’t be shocked or upset or turn His back on you. But don’t leave it at that! Instead, ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and assure you of His love. Then trust His promise that He is with you every moment of the day — even when you don’t understand everything that’s happening.
Then ask God to guide you, and give you courage and hope. Listen: God has a plan for your life, and your greatest joy will come from discovering it every day. God’s promise is for you: “I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
