My heart goes out to you, for divorce can be one of the most traumatic and painful experiences a person will ever go through. If people realized in advance how much heartache it causes they might not treat marriage so casually.
But the most important thing I can tell you is that God knows what you’re going through, and He loves you and cares for you. My prayer is that His love will become a reality to you, as you turn to Him and ask Christ to come into your life. Others may not understand what you’re going through; you may even feel rejected. But God understands, and He will never reject you, for He loves you with an everlasting love. The proof is that Christ was willing to die so you could be with Him in heaven forever.
Then seek God’s help and strength every day. Let Isaiah’s prayer become yours: “O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress” (Isaiah 33:2). Your circumstances may not change–but God will give you strength to meet them, and to face the future with hope. The Bible’s promise is true: “No good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless” (Psalm 84:11).
Let me encourage you also to get involved in a church where Christ is preached and you can grow spiritually. Many churches today have programs for people who are going through divorce, and this could be helpful to you as well.
