Q:

Do you think Jesus will come again this year? I've heard people say that the world is going to come to an end in 2012, and I've wondered if maybe they have some inside knowledge about Jesus' return.

A:

The Bible doesn’t tell us exactly when Jesus will come again — but it does promise that someday He definitely will return. As Jesus returned to heaven at the end of His ministry, the angels promised His disciples that “This same Jesus… will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).

Most of the “predictions” claiming the world will come to an end in 2012 aren’t based on the Bible, but on a calendar from an ancient civilization that actually ended hundreds of years ago. Most experts deny that the calendar even says this — but if it did, why should we believe it instead of the Bible? Jesus warned, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven” (Mark 13:32).

Why is Jesus’ return important? For one thing, it gives us hope — hope that someday all the evils of our present world will come to an end, because Christ will rule in glory. It also assures us that God — not Satan — is in control, and someday (as the Lord’s Prayer says) His Kingdom will come, and His will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

The real question, however, is this: Are you prepared for Christ’s coming? Once He comes, it will be too late to repent and turn to Him — for He comes to judge the living and the dead. Make sure of your salvation by turning to Christ and welcoming Him into your heart and life today.

Matthew 24:33 states “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the door.” Matthew 24:36 states “But of the day and hour knoweth no man…”We won't know an exact time, but we will know when it is imminent.

I can hardly wait for the Lord's return…but I know I have loved ones who are not ready and there are many people who still need to hear the Good News of Jesus. If you are one of them I pray you will open your heart and receive Him into your life.

I am ready and can't wait! But I do pray that the Lord will guide me and keep me strong before He comes. Also, we have to try to reach others before it is too late.

The second coming of Jesus is a one on one personal experience that has been going on, just as Jesus said it would in Matt 24:34 for the past almost 2,000 years. for someone, He came today, for someone else, He comes tomorrow. He comes for all.

1st : Do not worry about it , the bible says you do not know the date or time . Satan will do anything to side track you, to spend any amount of time thinking the end is here in 2012 is time wasted. Serve the Lord with all your heart, pray, give.

  10. Jeff says:

All the prophecies in the Bible have been fulfilled except the 2nd coming of Christ – so I would feel that it is soon. Look at the state of the world today – crime, famine, decrease of morals, etc. etc. Christ makes no mistakes.. Believe!
