Q:

Do you believe God curses some people with bad luck all their lives? I can't think of any other explanation for all the troubles I've had. No matter what I do, it just seems to get me into more trouble.

A:

I don’t honestly know all the reasons why some people seem to have it harder in life than others. The Bible says evil is a mystery, and only in Heaven will we fully understand why things happened to us the way they did.

But I do know this: God doesn’t arbitrarily condemn some people to a lifetime of sin and hardship and disappointment. Evil doesn’t come from God; it comes from the devil, and it comes also from the twisted world we live in. It comes as well from our own hearts, because by nature we resent God and want to run our own lives. The Bible says, “Each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed” (James 1:14).

Life is never easy; every one of us faces hardships and disappointments. The real issue, however, is how we react to them. Do we grow bitter and turn against God—or do we turn to Him, realizing that we need His strength and help in the midst of life’s storms? May the psalmist’s words become yours: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4).

If you have never done so, ask Christ to come into your life today. Then get in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is taught, and ask God to help you follow His Word every day. The Bible says, “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:6).

I’m close to being out on the street for lack of paying rent because work has slowed significantly. I pray so hard through the day and night and most times it comes to tears and begging for God’s help to no avail….I don’t even know what to do anymore. I feel like God’s unwanted child….

I’m smart enough to know God is with us & our son. Everything is so very hard for our son Eric. He has Drifted away from his walk with God, and is doing the college experience! With things we don’t approve of we turn our heads in hope God will deliver him and stop him in his tracks. I need prayer. For him and our family. I was desperate last night try to call someone to pray. And you know I couldn’t even pray myself! No words, son was in car accident he’s ok car can be fixed. But the stress and to see his behavior dealing with this accident. Crying to the lord why. Why me?? All his friends lucky. please we need our son to deliver him from drinking and pit last night yes. He was looking for a gun. We out hunting season. So we have them. crying to God.

I’m having trouble believing in God in my heart. I know I believe in God but things are happening to me. You’re out of my control, I have an autistic son, two daughters and me as a single father trying to believe in God. I go to church sometimes and my faith is being questioned. I need help realizing what to do. I’m losing everything. My house, my job is lost and I can’t take it no more. I turn to God for help and wisdom and I sometimes feel so he dont hear me but in my heart I know he hears me but mentally I’m destroyed. I don’t know what to do. I pray and I pray for guidance and help. I need a blessing and it seems to me I’m not getting one. am I wrong for questioning my heaven father? please write back to me. I want God in my life please
