Long ago a personal letter to Norman Vincent Peale from a 14 year old was answered by a personal letter back. He wrote a letter to me - a letter of hope and encouragement. There is nothing like a personal testimony and caring to offer hope. He changed my life in the same way that Billy Graham has for me and so many others. I'd like to say that I was first captured by Billy Graham's message when I was 7 years old (I am now 47). He is who God used to first stir up the gift in me. I came to Jesus when I was 12 yrs of age. I feel as though I know him and I wish that I could meet him. Billy, I know we are not to have any idols and I don't but I do want you to know that because you have followed your heart when Christ led you to evangelize the world God knew what He was doing, I praise God for you. You are my earthly "hero" I praise God for the message of the Gospel that is the only way to become totally free from all sin...for life eternal. Pastor, I am requesting prayer for my unsaved stepfather(William Wood), who has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer.I also need prayer for change in my Husband's heart, as for my Mother needs my help there( she has Alzheimer's)and my husband will not agree to move there.His job will transfer him there, we were there last winter, but he would not let me stay. I praise God daily for He saved me from a near death. On March 27th-29th of this year I suffered for two days from an ongoing heart attack which I didn't know was happening. Doctors say it should've killed me but Divine intervention saved me until medical help could be sought. From God through the doctors to me. What most inspires me is how simple Billy Graham delivers his messages. It dosen't take fancy words or a theological debate. What it takes is a love and passion for God and uncompromising faith that every single word in the Bible is our blueprint for life. I just want to tell anyone who is feeling the drawing power of God upon them. Please just give up the fight that you cannot fight alone. Give it to God. I tried to fight it on my own but God drove me to my knees and saved my soul. Don't put it off until tomorrow, don't believe that you can "fix" yourself. Just give it to God and let His love and mercy wash you clean!! You will gain nothing from this world but God will give you everything!! His eternal promise we must cling to!! When I was a child, every Sunday our family came together at my grandparents home to share the day together. After we would finish eating our Sunday dinner and cleaning up, we children would sit down with my grandfather and watch a Billy Graham stadium outreach. I had no idea then what was being poured into my soul...but when I grew up and made my own decision to walk with Christ, I remember those afternoons so fondly, when without my knowledge, the Word of God was being poured into me. Thank you to Laura and Haines O'Hara, my grandparents, for being such quiet amazing teachers, and thank you Dr. Graham for following God's path for your life. Thank God for Jesus. I know my final destiny now. It is Heaven forever. I was a failure at everything I did in my life before I asked Jesus Christ to be Lord over all. Alcohol, drugs, etc. stole everything from me. I was homeless for a time also. Now since receiving Christ, He has made me a missionary to The Philippines. Making Jesus the Lord over my life; spirit, soul, and body the same as so many testimonies became a game changer but only because this is guaranteed seed and depends on the type of ground that this seed falls upon. This parable about the sower and the seed can be read about from the bible. God's word does not lie. Covetousness and evil concupiscence has to be overcome. Vain imaginings and reasoning has to be cast down. It requires putting on some pieces of armor. Leaving no room for the flesh has to be applied to walking the talk.
